MEET ERIKKA

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Erikka Grayson is the Director of Community and Engagement for the Early Excellence Project (EEP), where she works to narrow the opportunity gap in early childhood education for Black and Brown children. Through her leadership in the Margaret Washington Literacy Center (MWLC), she develops and implements culturally responsive literacy programs that provide high-impact tutoring and access to diverse, high-quality books. She collaborates with early childhood education centers and K-5 schools, including Miller Elementary and Weil Elementary, to improve literacy outcomes and ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Erikka holds a degree in Health Information Management from the University of Pittsburgh and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Point Park University in 2013. She was honored as a 2024 Courier 40 Under 40 Award recipient for her outstanding leadership and commitment to community advocacy.

A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Erikka is deeply involved in service and mentorship initiatives. She has also been an active advocate at Miller Elementary School, previously serving as a Parent Helper with The Center that Cares, where she provided daily support and encouragement to students and families.

Above all, Erikka is a proud mother of a recent graduate of Pittsburgh Public Schools and two current PPS students. Her firsthand experience as a PPS parent fuels her passion for ensuring that all students receive a quality education and the resources they need to thrive.

Beyond her professional work, Erikka is dedicated to uplifting mothers. Through her Instagram platform, Bomb Moms, she cultivates a supportive space for moms to share their unique journeys in motherhood. Her Cold Coffee Podcast, a part of Bomb Moms, features insightful IG Live interviews covering diverse topics in motherhood, aiming to connect, empower, and amplify the voices of mothers.

Erikka remains committed to strengthening Pittsburgh’s schools and communities, ensuring that every child—regardless of background—has access to a high-quality education and the support they deserve.
